 | Morning Art Club | Ms. Granados puts aside special time for morning art club were students can come in early before school and work on miniature sculptures which go on display in our display case. These leaders come into school before it starts to work on their projects. If you would like to see some of the products of their work head over to our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/olympiaelementary/ |
 | Judson Honors Choir hopefuls | Walking through the annex this morning before school started I heard some amazing voices. Checking in with Mr. Stuckey I found a group of students who even though they had found out the auditions were canceled this weekend because of weather asked to stay and practice with him instead of going to class. I wish these guys good luck in their auditions this drive will help these future leaders later in life. |
 | Outstanding Olympians | We celebrated twp groups of Outstanding Olympians this and last Friday. Selected for their commitment to following our core values of respect, responsibility, and restorative practices. Their individual pictures and awards will be on display all week in our main hallway, their achievements were announced to the entire school today, and they will go home with them next week. Head over to our Facebook page to see all the groups https://www.facebook.com/olympiaelementary/ |

Counselor CornerHi 5th Grade Families! I can't believe it's time to start talking about Middle School for our 5th Graders! First, please see the flyer about 5th Grade Parent Night offered at our various middle schools. This is a great opportunity for you and your student to learn about different electives and courses offered at Judson middle schools. It is also time for JSTEM Academy applications. Students interested in applying for the lottery have from now until February 6 at midnight to complete applications. The attached flyer has information about two Open Houses that will provide more information about JSTEM and the application process. |

Learning in Classroom CirclesJan 12th-Jan 30th Accepting Challenges If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Accepting Challenges we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Finklehopper Frog by Linvingston, Giraffes can't Dance by Andreae, Three hens and a Peacock by Laminack, and Ruby in her own time by Emmitt. Some Sample Qs: What was the real challenge the main character faced? Did all characters have a hard time doing it or just the main character?
The Goal: Remind ourselves that everyone struggles with different challenges. We are not all the same, some things are easier for us and some are harder. We are all gifted in different ways. What's important is that we accept all challenges and do not give up.
Summary/Key Phrase: Every Person is gifted. Every person has challenges. |
