Olympia Weekly Week of September 1st | | |

| From the Principal Some reminders about good courtesy in the car line. Please join the end of the line and do not cut in the gaps provided so that our neighbors can get in the neighborhood. I have been hearing several complaints about this behavior. If you have a relative picking up your kiddo please also let them know not to do this behavior. If you are using handicap parking in the front you must have your placard displayed or handicap symbol in the plate. Officer Winter will be giving out tickets for not following this requirement. We have several families using these as drop off or pick up spots and not following the rules. Students in a wheelchair are not able to unload or get loaded. This will be the last warning about this behavior
Please Note*** Every week I send out a weekly newsletter and share upcoming events, important info from the PTO, and pictures and events from the week in case you missed it. This will be sent to the enrolling parents email, but can always be found on our facebook page which usually has more pictures of our events as well so it might be a good idea to follow https://www.facebook.com/olympiaelementary
We are moving away from ClassDojo and will not be using it at all soon. If you haven’t downloaded the Judson app, do it today!

| | | Counselor CornerHello Families! I'm excited to get into our classrooms to teach your students! This year I am using a new curriculum for classroom lessons. Please see the family letter that is an overview of the lessons I will teach our students this year. The first unit is Growth Mindset and Goal-Setting. I will work with our students to help them learn that being good at something doesn't just happen. We have to keep practicing and not give up. I will work with older students about making a personal plan to reach a goal.
I'm so excited for the school year ahead of us!
Mrs. Hadas | Learning in Classroom CirclesAug 25th- Sep 5th Paying Attention If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Paying Attention we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Look out, Patrick by Geraghly, Come Along, Daisy by Simmons, Pay Attention, Emily Brown! by Burton, and Brown bear, Brown bear, What do you say? by Martin Jr. Sample Qs: Did the main character pay attention? What happened because they weren't paying attention? In order to learn and stay safe we need to pay attention.
The Goal: Remind students we pay attention with our eyes and ears but not our mouths. When we pay attention we watch and listen but we do not talk.
