POST-DRILL COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION

Dear Unicorn Families,

The Fine Arts Academy at Olympia conducted a practice LOCKDOWN Drill today. LOCKDOWN drills are conducted to ensure students and staff practice the Standard Response Protocols and know how to respond should a LOCKDOWN occur at our school.

Our students and staff did a great job during the drill, and we will debrief with our local first responders to continue to identify any areas for improvement. Thank you for your continued support.

NOTIFICACIÓN A LA COMUNIDAD POST-SIMULACRO

Queridas Familias Unicorns,

COMMUNITY NOTIFICATIONS OF LOCKDOWN DRILL

Dear Unicorn Families,

As we maintain our focus on campus safety and security, we wanted to inform you that we will be conducting a practice LOCKDOWN drill during the week of Feb 9-13. We want to ensure that all students, staff, and visitors are prepared in the event of any emergency, including what actions should be taken during a LOCKDOWN. Practice of emergency procedures through drills and training can reduce confusion.

We will not be conducting any live scenarios during our LOCKDOWN drill, meaning there will be no loud simulations, blank rounds, or explosive sounds.

“DRILL IN PROGRESS” signage will be posted at the front entrance to the school building.

NO VISITORS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER OR EXIT THE BUILDING DURING THE DURATION OF THE LOCKDOWN DRILL.

We invite you to review the I Love You Guys Standard Response Protocols on our district’s safety and security website http://www.judsonisd.org/safetyandsecurity. Thank you for your continued support.

NOTIFICACIONES A LA COMUNIDAD SOBRE SIMULACRO DE CIERRE DE EMERGENCIA

Queridas Familias Unicorns,

Safe Gun Storage Information
Districts must provide information about the safe storage of firearms to the parent or guardian of
each student enrolled in the district or school at least three times each school year as required by
HB 121. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s Keep ’Em Safe Texas campaign offers free
downloadable resources, including posters, flyers, presentations, coloring sheets, and suggested
social media posts, to promote safe gun storage. The TxSSC recommends providing this information
at beginning of the school year, before holidays and breaks, and at the end of the school year.
